Gluten-Free Apple Crisp
Nothing beats the smell of baking apples and cinnamon in the fall. This recipe does not disappoint and delivers all the fall feels. I recommend serving this apple crisp warm with a side of vanilla bean ice cream. Go ahead, get your cozy on!
apple crisp - base
6-8 medium sized granny smith apples
1/2 cup coconut sugar
2 tbs oat flour
1/2 tsp cinnamon
apple crisp - topping
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 cup oats
1/2 cup coconut oil (melted)
8 tbs oat flour
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp cinnamon
directions:
Preheat oven to 350°
Peel, core and slice apples. I like to slice mine very thin to ensure they bake through. Add sliced apples to a medium sized mixing bowl.
Add remaining apple crisp base ingredients to the sliced apples and stir until combined.
In a separate mixing bowl, combine all apple crisp topping ingredients with a fork. Topping should look crumbly and similar to a streusel topping. Pour apples into a greased baking dish. 8 x 8 or slightly larger sized baking dishes work great for this recipe. Evenly top the apples with the streusel topping.
Bake for approximately 45 minutes, or until a toothpick or a fork can be easily inserted through the apples.
